- Devon Yan Berrong was born in south China in 1982 and cannot recall a time where he wasn't interested in art. Discouraged by his family to put aside his dreams of being an artist and think realistically about this future, Devon reluctantly attend business school and hide his dreams away for over 10 years. But one day in 2003, a photograph of a woman captured his attention and he began doodling, which ignited a spark long forgotten within him and he awoke to his passions for drawing once again. Devon is a self taught artist who found his early inspirations from classic movies and music with his own imagination. Creating his own style and always trying to achieve a realistic image, Devon has since never looked back as he reaches for his dream of being an artist everyday. In 2006, Devon moved to Portland Oregon. A new world of art was open to him, even the classic he had never known about in China were new to him. Art galleries, museums and even the Internet allowed Devon to find even more inspirations to help him create a stronger, more diverse portfolio and a stronger confidence to making his dream. -Written By Devon's Husband Ric Berrong
